Each order includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a Bering Sea Paydirt waterproof decal. If you’d like to learn more about the recovery process and the challenges involved, we encourage you to visit Emily Riedel’s YouTube channel.
Emily Riedel, a star of the Discovery Channel series “Bering Sea Gold,” is the only female dredge captain in the area. From the M/V Eroica, she and her crew brave the hazardous conditions of the Bering Sea to recover placer gold from the ocean floor. The Bering Sea is notorious for its harsh weather, including strong winds, high waves, and freezing temperatures, posing significant risks to miners and their equipment.
Natural placer gold is eroded from its original source and transported by natural forces such as water or wind, resulting in small flakes and nuggets with smooth and round finishes. Gold from the Bering Sea is known for its higher purity compared to placer gold from other regions, ranging from 89% to 93% purity, with 6% to 9% silver content. In comparison, average placer gold found in America typically ranges from 60% to 75% purity.
