As production ramps up and the supply of available silver increases, Asahi Refining is diversifying its portfolio as it generates more options for silver investors. What started with larger weight 1 Kilo and 100 oz silver bars, Asahi is now ready to strike and release the most popular silver bar weight. Today, the 1 oz Asahi Silver Bar is available for purchase from JM Bullion.
Bar Highlights:
- Bars are available in individual plastic flips or tubes of 20!
- Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
- Obverse features the Asahi logo.
- Reverse bears a repeating logo design.
- Overall designs reminiscent of Johnson Matthey products.
Asahi Refining 1 oz Silver Bars in this product listing are minted ingots, which feature highly refined designs and finishing aspects. Compared to poured loaf bars, minted ingots feature rolled silver that is precisely weighed and cut by machines in a refinery to ensure the exact weight and purity content.
Minted ingot production also allows for the creation of a silver bar with excellent design features and elements. The 1 oz Asahi Silver Bar has strong lines, raised edges, and a brilliant finish.
On the obverse side of each 1 oz Asahi Silver Bar, you’ll find the Asahi Metals logo at the top of the bar’s design field. Arranged vertically from top to bottom, other engravings and markings include the name of the mint, the metal content, purity, and weight.
The reverse side of the silver bars features only the Asahi Metals logo in a repeating design, with the logo set at a 45-degree angle across the bar’s face. Asahi Refining of Japan took over former Johnson Matthey refining facilities in North America with the purchase of the former’s gold and silver refining business in December 2014. Many of its early products resemble the designs investors are accustomed to seeing from Johnson Matthey’s refining operations.
Asahi Refining and Assayers was formed in Tokyo in 1952. Over the course of more than 60 years, the company built a name for itself largely as a precious metals recycler, collecting silver and other metals from manufacturing and industrial operations.
