Each of the 10 Gram Argor Heraeus Gold Bars available to you in this product listing comes with its own individual package. The bars are sealed inside of a plastic card that includes a black assay card within from Argor Heraeus. The assay card provides verification information for the bar and boasts the signature of a Certified Assayer.
On that assay card, you will find the Argor Heraeus name and catchphrase “The Golden Link” on the obverse. This side of the card also features a matching serial number and is aligned with the same number from the bar visible. The other side of the assay card includes the signature of the assayer, the weight of the bar, and metal purity.
Minted ingots such as these start life as a long cast gold bar. Those cast gold bars are fed into computer-controlled stamping machines that precisely cut each bar to size and stamp an engraving onto the surface of the bar.
Obverse design elements of the 10 Gram Argor Heraeus Gold Bar include the mint logo at the top. The “AH” initials for the mint are included in the center of the circle with the full name listed around it in a rim. Below that, you will find the word “Switzerland,” along with the weight, metal content, and purity of the bar. At the very bottom, the bar has the assayer’s mark stamped on and a unique serial number using a six-digit coding system.
The reverse field of these bars has been left blank on purpose. While some mints opt to put a simple repeating design, Argor Heraeus simply leaves the bar blank on this face.
Argor Heraeus is part of the broader Heraeus Group in its modern form, but it was originally founded as Argor S.A. in Chiasso, Switzerland, in 1951. Today it is headquartered in Mendrisio, Switzerland.
