Each 140 oz Memento Mori Copper Cube is available to you for purchase online with a protective plastic bag. These copper bullion pieces are more than just copper bars with a traditional shape. Each one is a massive 140 oz cube of copper with six equal sides. The obverse and reverse references for those sides are simply the top and bottom visual fields.
Memento Mori comes from the historical records of the Roman Empire. The earliest records of this phrase are said to come from the homecoming parade of a Roman general. After success in war, the general returned to the Roman capital with a hero’s welcome. During this parade, he was reminded by one of his own servants that “you too shall die.” The phrase Memento Mori translates, roughly, as “remember, you too have to/will die.”
In the obverse design of 140 oz Memento Mori Copper Cubes, you will see the image of a skeleton. As if taken from this world quickly, the skeleton’s mouth is agape in shock. Surrounding the skeleton are images of skulls, crossbones, and hourglasses.
For the reverse face of the 140 oz Memento Mori Coppber Cubes, the Anonymous Mint uses the Periodic Table of Elements for inspiration to highlight the hallmarks of the bar. Notable markings include the weight of the cube, as well as the metal content in both the full word Copper and the Atomic symbol of Cu.
