The South African Krugerrand coins are available with 22-karat gold content that consists of 91.67% gold and 8.33% copper in its metallic composition.

Reverse designs for the 2021 South African Gold Krugerrand feature the beloved Springbok antelope. Both the Springbok and Kruger have featured on previous coins issued in South Africa, but never on the same coins until the release of the Krugerrand in 1967.
All 2021 1/2 oz South African Gold Krugerrand Coins are produced by the Rand Refinery and South African Mint. The first coins in this series were minted on July 3, 1967, with the 1/2 oz coin introduced in 1980 along with 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz gold options.
