In 1924, the Peace Silver Dollar entered a two-year cycle where only the Philadelphia Mint and the San Francisco Mint issued the coins. In 1921, only Philadelphia struck the coins, while 1922-1923, 1926-1928, and 1934-1935 saw production at the two aforementioned mints and the Denver Mint. In 1924, Philadelphia issued a total of 11,811,000 coins.
All of these 1924 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available in Mint State 64 condition. The PCGS issues this grade to coins with average mint luster, small contact marks clustered in gropus, one or two heavier marks, and one or two small patches of hairlines.
On the obverse of 1924 Peace Dollar Coins, you will find a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty. Inspired by the Goddess of Liberty, this final Liberty design for US silver dollars shows Liberty with a towering, spiked crown.
The reverse field of the 1924 Peace Silver Dollar comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle at rest. In honor of the peace America sought in the aftermath of World War I, the eagle is shown perched on a rock cliff with an olive branch in its talons and its wings resting at its side.
