If you’re buying gold in the American Eagle Series in 2021, there is a special occasion taking place as the US Mint marks the 35th anniversary of the series. The 2021 date mark is not only the 35th anniversary of the series, but it is also the first time the coins will receive a design overhaul of any consequence. The reverse design of the bald eagle is set to change by mid-2021, leaving early issues in the year with the original design combinations and giving buyers one last shot at these historic images. Today, 2021 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coins in perfect condition are available to you online from JM Bullion.

Originally scheduled for release to start the 2021 Gold Eagle Series, the new design of an American bald eagle head in left-profile relief has been pushed back. The COVID-19 pandemic drastically altered coining operations at the US Mint as staffing reductions were required and also delayed the selection of a new design. As a result, the US Mint will issue these early 2021 Gold Eagles with the original design combinations and debut the new eagle reverse by mid-2021.
All of these 2021 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available with Mint State 70 certifications. Coins in perfect condition, such as these, have full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws of any kind on the design elements or background fields. Also included is a First Strike label. This indicates the coins were received for grading within 30 days of the US Mint releasing the coins.
On the obverse of 2021 American Gold Eagle Coins is Lady Liberty. This design from 1907 shows Liberty walking away from Washington DC, the US Capitol Building visible at her feet, holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. Rays of sunshine are visible behind her frame and a ring of 50 stars surrounds the design field.
For the final time, the reverse of 2021 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coins bears the design of a family of American bald eagles from Miley Busiek. This design has been on the reverse since 1986 and has never featured on another American coin series. In the design field, a female eagle and young hatchling rest in the family nest as a male eagle flies overhead with a branch in its talons.
