The obverse of 2022 Australian Quokka Silver Coins features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. In this design by Jody Clark, we see Her Late Majesty in right-profile relief wearing both the Coronation Necklace and the George IV State Diadem. There are also obverse inscriptions that read Elizabeth II, Australia, 1 oz .9999 Ag, 2022, 1 Dollar.
On the reverse side of 2022 1 oz Quokka Silver Coins there are two Quokkas beside a watering hole. One appears to be taking a drink, while the other looks ahead while waiting their turn. Beside these adorable marsupials, there are Rottnest Island daisies growing by the water. The reverse also includes the word Quokka as well as a micro-laser engraved letter security feature only visible under a magnifying glass.
The Quokka is a marsupial, the lone member of the genus Setinox, and arguably the cutest critter in all of Australia. While they are known for occupying Rottnest Island just off the coast of Perth, they also maintain a presence on Bald Island in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia. When they aren’t hanging out with tourists dying to get a photo, Quokkas can be found hopping about like kangaroos in search of plants, leaves, and bark to satisfy their herbivorous diet.
